Canada's National Open Championship

If you have attended the Nationals or tournaments that include all age groups, you will recognize all or most of these names.  These players today are considered the best in our sport.  It is a tribute to Palm Creek's, Theresa Orcutt's skill level, that she is part of this elite group. From far and near we will be cheering for Theresa!

2015 Pickleball Adventure by Audrey Phillips

Over the last couple of years, Audrey Phillips has organized several of these trips. The feedback has been that the trips are great! These trips fill up quick, so don't delay

Ahoy Pickle Mates from far and near Pickle Punta Cana is finally here!

The Royal Suites are waiting for you!
If you don’t join us, I know you will be blue (or pink)

Yes, it is many months away
And in the meantime, remember to play!

Now you know why I am a shrink
And not a poet, don’t you think?

  Hi everyone!

It is with great pleasure that I present to you PICKLE PUNTA CANA, our 2015 pickle adventure to the Dominican Republic. Attached below are both the brochure and registration forms. I have chosen to send them to you now before I send it to any of the 300 people who have inquired about Punta Cana in the past two months. I will be sending the brochure to all of you who have traveled on the adventures in the past. Two week after, I will send it to the new people who have inquired. Lastly, there will be an article in the August USAPA newsletter about PICKLE PUNTA CANA. If you have gone on several of the adventures, I apologize in advance if you receive this email more than one time as I will sending it to all the emailing lists from Bermuda, Jamaica, (“oh I want to take ya”) Costa Rica and Riviera Maya.

If you are part of a pickleball community and your group would like to go together,  please consult with everyone as to which week you prefer before sending in your registration form. Rumor has it that week one will sell out quicker than week two, so if you choose week one, I recommend getting your forms in quickly. I will not take more than 150 people each week.

You will be happy to know that, although we will all be staying at the Royal Suites Turquesa in the Grand Palladium, the price is lower than any trip in the past.  You have a wide choice of room types, all of which are excellent. The brochure has a picture of each type of suite.  If you need double beds as opposed to a king bed, please note that the Royal deluxe junior suites in the old section are your suites of choice. These are also the best choice for singles and triples.

We are asking for the regular $350 per person deposit. You will not make your second payment until February with final payment in September of 2015.
The resort is 12 miles from the Punta Cana airport (PUJ) You cannot book your air until 11 months prior to departure, so I suggest checking on the rates in January of 2015.

I am hoping that many of you can come to the San Diego Senior Olympics in September, so that we can have a reunion. The dates are September 26-28. I am happy to help you find housing with our local pickle friends or a cost effective hotel/motel.

Also, I would like to share with you that Valerie Wilson, one of our loyal adventurites from Anna Maria Island, Florida, has published a book called Stinky Funky, which you can purchase on Amazon.com.  It is both an  adult and children’s book. Congrats to Valerie!

If you have any questions whatsoever, please let me know. I do not want to wish our time away, but just can’t wait to PICKLE PUNTA CANA!

  Cheers,
 Audrey

CNN News

For years Tom and Ann have done much to support and grow the sport of pickleball.
When they leave Palm Creek and return to Georgia, they do more than most would even consider.
They have opened their home to all active adults who want to come and play.   Lessons are given to new comers who soon become skilled players. It has grown so much, that last year, they expanded the courts to play on to SIX.  Yes, these courts are on their home property. These courts are listed on USAPA.org under places to play.  For the past seven years they have also hosted an annual tournament.
It is no surprise that CNN showed up at on their doorstep
