We have an AMAZING group

This project has taken a long time to come to fruition.
In 2010 our club dontated pickleball equipment to Ironwood elementary school.  Several volunteers spent time at the school showing the teachers and the children alike how to play the game.

Some very bright youngsters, knew that they would be graduating and in their Thank You notes, they asked if we would be going to Cactus Middle School next!!

In 2011 Mark Freidenberg came to Palm Creek and gave our club a 2 day seminar/clinic.  In return we thanked Mark by assuring him that we would give back to the youngsters in our community.
Le Roy Schmidt, took on the challenge to work with the school and its administration, with patience and persistence he succeeded.  The school has at last, welcomed our willingess to donate equipment and get the youngsters playing the game we love.

The administrators called Le Roy Friday afternoon and said we could mark and paint courts on Saturday!
In response to an e-mail that went out late Friday Night, this group of volunteers met at 8 AM, Satruday Morning to work on measuring and painting 8 courts at Cactus Middle School.

Alex Gendron - Vern Jacobsen -  Ken Kinnear - John McBride -  Chuck McDonald -  Mark Nelson - Jim Nussbaum -  Larry Reid - Barb Schmidt - LeRoy Schmidt - Les Scott - Andy Schmaltz -Bob VanderLinden

Thank you  for your willingness to help with this project and for your help all season long with other club projects.

An Invitation from Robson Ranch Pickleball Club

The Robson Ranch AZ Pickleball Club has invited us to join them on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 11am - 4pm, for the Grand Opening of their 12 new pickleball courts. They would love for you to bring your paddle and a chair to join them in a few social games on their new courts. There will be live musical entertainment, prize drawings for pickleball paddles, and food specials!  Court times will be assigned by sign in time and level of play. Do join them and other pickleball players for some fun play and story swapping!

New Court Addition

Ken Reese and his latest Court Contribution

In an effort to relieve the congestion at the sign up boards, during round robins, Ken designed and built this portable board. The court schedule is easier to read, courts are easily selected for play via magnetic numbers (no more magic marker), the slide tells you which game is being played (no more little pieces of tape) and an easily accessible board to write your scores. When Ken is playing on the courts, we can usually "hear" him and he is very visible. Off the courts he is actually camera shy, Verna Moore had her work cut out for her in getting this picture.
