Court Allocation

On Wednesday, January 27th, I met with Walt Krahl and Charlotte Eicher, Vice-President and President of the Palm Creek Tennis Club, as well as with Wendell Johnson, Palm Creek General Manager and Diane Gaines, Palm Creek Sports Director, to discuss issues regarding court allocation to best meet the needs of the Palm Creek residents.

Several alternatives were discussed . In the end, it was decided that Tennis Court 2 will be converted into four (4) additional pickleball courts. For this year the conversion will be done by re-lining Tennis Court 2 and putting four temporary pickleball nets in place. This will, of course, result in our having 12 pickleball courts at our disposal. The timing of this will follow the completion of the Cancer Awareness Tennis Tournament on Sunday, February 7, 2010, making the effective date of the transition Monday, February 8th.
I deeply appreciate both the patience exhibited by our many pickleball club members as we've contended with our overly busy courts, and likewise I appreciate the understanding and support exhibited by the Palm Creek Tennis Club members and the Palm Creek management. It's clear that everyone has been working to best need the residents' needs, and we are all committed to continuing that work.
