REFEREES

NOTICE TO ALL REFEREES FOR THE UPCOMING TOURNAMENT
Our registrations for the upcoming tournament are way ahead of last year and as such EVERY referee is important to insure that matches run on time. PLEASE, if you can, make yourself available for the maximum time during next week's tournament. When you arrive in the morning or afternoon, please report to the referee cooordinator's tent, advise that you are available and for how long, you will be available to referee. We anticipate having a greater need for referees in the afternoons, so if you would like to sign up specifically for afternoons that would be great, too. Just let us know when you arrive !
Also, remember THESE two dates ( and times):
1. Monday, March 2 at 11:45 AM - Our last referee training session before the tournament and a great chance to brush up if didn't do much refereeing in the last tournament. We will meet at the courts.
2. Wednesday March 4 - 3:00 - 4:00 PM - Meeting for ALL referees. Cover last minute details, changes in how we're going to handle the process, and answer any of your remaining questions.
We will meet at the pavillion.

February Meeting

We had a great turn out - I wonder if the free pizza was a factor?

Meeting Highlights:

Palm Creek's General Manager addressed the club. He assured us that he was well aware of how important Pickleball is for our community.

Joyce Staffen provided the treasure's report

Court Etiquette will always be a topic - reminder to pick up the ball before returning it to another court. It was also requested that you do not practice in an empty court while a round robin is in progress

Reminder - Only courts 5-8 can be reserved. Courts 1-4 are to be available for open play

Tom Gearheart told all club members that they will enjoy the game more if they play within their correct skill level

Vance Christiansen - talked about the shoot-outs - This is "Highly" competitive play, the shoot-outs will stay the same format for the rest of the season. Skill level shoot-outs will be taken under consideration next season.

Everyone agreed that the Resident Tournament was a great success and thanks was given to all who made it possible

We are all looking forward to the upcoming " 6th Annual Tournament"

The meeting was adjourned just as the Pizza arrived

There was plenty of Pizza for all and every conceivable variety of Pizza was available.

Everyone socialized and had a really good time

Next Meeting: Mark your calendar - March 18th - 3:00 PM - Sonora Room - Election of Officers - Pot Luck Dinner to follow (these are always great)
